From a 100 sq.ft. corner shop in 1950 to South India's largest stationery destination — this is the story of Premier, and of Thiruvananthapuram.
Before Kerala became a state. Before Thiruvananthapuram became a thriving capital. At Ayurveda College Junction, an intrepid young man named Shri Ananthaswamy saw opportunity where others saw a struggling soap and powder shop.
New government offices and businesses were cropping up across the newly-forming city. They all needed paper, pens, ink, account books. The location was perfect — and his hunch paid off spectacularly.
Ably assisted by Shri Govinda Pillai and Shri Krishnan Kutty— Premier's first two employees — the store quickly became an institution.
Shri Ananthaswamy
Founder, Premier Office Equipment Co. — A visionary who saw the future of a growing city, and built something that would outlast generations.
The Beginning
Premier Office Equipment Co. established at Ayurveda College Junction, Thiruvananthapuram. Started in a 100 sq.ft. shop, accommodating just 3 customers at a time.
Growing With the Capital
As Thiruvananthapuram grew into a thriving capital, Premier grew alongside it — expanding its product range and becoming the preferred supplier for government institutions.
Becoming an Institution
Premier became the trusted stationery partner for Kerala's largest organisations including VSSC, LIC, State Bank of India and dozens of educational institutions.
The Superstore Era
Expansion into a 7,500 sq.ft. flagship store — stocking over 10,000 products across writing, art, craft, school and office categories from 200+ global brands.
Premier Studio Opens
A second store launches at Keshavadasapuram — bringing Premier's unmatched range even closer to more neighbourhoods across the city.
South India's Largest
Two stores. 10,000+ products. Pan-India delivery. Still proudly rooted in Ananthapuri — still serving the city's students, artists, creators and businesses with the same passion as day one.
